Hello, everybody, it’s nice to be here out in the open now. I’ve been checking out the site for I guess at least about six months and have been pretty impressed with the level of knowledge and the general friendliness, as well as the many pics of some great guitars. I would’ve signed on earlier, but for some reason I wanted to wait until I finally got my Blackmore Strat, which was about a week ago. I also have a ‘84 Japanese Squier I’ve had since it was made, along with several others, among them an Epi Dot, Epi Les Paul, and a Tele. Played in bands for years, some good, most bad, but these days I do an awful lot of original stuff in my little attic home studio on my DAW. Not much of an audience there, obviously, but it’s still very satisfying. I’ll say right off the bat I’m clearly not nearly as knowledgeable as a great many of you, but I plan to contribute when I can.
Again, feels good to be here.

Welcome! It's good to hear from ypu. Most of us have many different types of guitars in our collection. I've got an incoming Les Paul type. Like you, I was in several bands over the years. I don't have that kind of time to commit anymore. I still love playing and learning new songs.

Welcome! You don’t have to have a particular kind of guitar or be the most knowledgeable. This is just a fun group.

Ok, I’ll put one up shortly. But you might be a bit horrified at the MIJ Squier, because I modded it, un-modded it, changed the color, etc., years n years ago, before I really knew what I had. But she’s still a fantastic guitar, and I played more gigs with her than any other, including a Gibson LP Deluxe I had back in the day. Back then, she had a Bill Lawrence Blade in the bridge position and she would flat out scream when you needed her to.

Those are the girls. And speaking of which, my wife is starting to get a little annoyed, She recently asked me the totally ridiculous question, “How many guitars do you think you need?”

explain that need has nothing to do with it, you just have uncontrollable GAS.

Lol. I’ve told her I plan on giving some away at some point, and I do intend to. I have a good friend down in South Carolina who could make very good use of that sunburst on the wall, the one in the middle. That one is actually one of those super cheap Starcasters, but I’ll tell you what, that thing has a GREAT neck on it. 12” radius. My son bought it a few years back and then lost interest in it, so I bought it from him for what he paid for it. I’ve actually played it a lot, but since getting the Blackmore the rest of them are just mostly twiddling their tuners these days waiting for some love.

EA63B5CC-C546-4010-95E7-9C57B7ACB42F.jpeg I just realized I left out the tele.

This little git was just $99, one of those Monoprice deals, but you would not believe how well it plays. At some point I might put some better tuners on, but she’s actually staying in tune really well. Even the pups are pretty decent for what I’m using her for, which is home recording. Seems like we’re living in a golden age of good quality guitars for not much money. She is a heavy one, though, but I don’t mind that.
