If you're making or made a guitar, please feel free to post a pic. Here's my USACG Tele body
    - I'm attempting a Mary Kay White:

I haven't "made" any but I have bolted quite a few parts together and ended up with a guitar :).

I have an extra loaded pickguard just laying around and I have always wanted a mohogany strat so it is very possible that I'll be participating in this thread some time.

I've priced Warmoth before, what are other options that builders use?

I started by repurposing Korean Squier necks. After deciding to step up the game I was faced with the plethora of offerings to be had out there for Stat necks. Long story short I decided to just buy Fender. Even Fender sells their own brand new necks direct for 199 shipped.
There are also many used Fender necks with tuners to be had in the 125 to 200 range out there, so why not. Decal already applied :)

I assembled this one. Tru Oil finish on a box elder maple body. The Warmoth neck is raw canary wood, no finish. Wilde Keystone pickups wired with a 5 way switch.

Great looking guitar all around, the body is awesome obviously, though it's the subtle things like the white chickenhead knobs that really set it off.

Also, here's my favorite part of my tele. Customized neck plate with a pic of my daughter engraved on it.

Anyone done a body from scratch?
    I'd never try a neck...
    But possibly a tele body.
We have a mill here that specializes in perfume cedar.
No pine, doug, oak, just cedar.

The chicken head knobs were a happy accident. I had some chrome knobs that I antiqued when I did the rest of the metal. But when I went to install them they were the wrong size. Darn! But I had these chicken head knobs for a stompbox project. Guitar took priority over stompbox and got the chicken head knobs. Serendipity. Those knobs get as many compliments as the the rest of the guitar.

For bodies, try Ebay. If you research and be patient you can find some nice deals. Some people want ridiculous prices (IMO).

For $225 I'd find this tempting were I in your shoes: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-5...0001&campid=5338148356&icep_item=252847733751

I haven't yet, the finish work is all I've done on my two parts guitars. I have minimal carpentry skills but I would like to learn how to do it at some point. The tele forum is loaded with guys who build from scratch.

    Just bought this from Warmoth.

Having it routed like this...TV Jones in the neck n bridge (thinking Powertrons), 'bucker in the middle. Thinking of going with the Duncan P Rails in the middle. The black Wilkinson trem bridge is on order too.

No neck yet, the one in the picture is just a stock photo, but like the one in the photo it is going to be wenge.
