Well, change the plastics to black, let the clear yellow a bit and I think it would look OK.

I agree that is indeed "the most pedestrian and bland Stratocaster" around. And whoever decided that that body was good enough for a see through finish should have his eyes removed.
Up until this point the grain pattern of both pieces melt together, even the hue of the pieces match.
It only gets really bad when this part gets added. Which is a shame.
It's not "a shame", it's sloppy wood selection.
