Would this be a good buy? I'm looking for something unusual, but good quality. I quite fancy the neck which I'm told is the best feature.

The Spec sheet from Fender says this is a Mexican Standard Squier with ceramic pickups. The owner has changed two of them to custom wound ones.

I know there are quite a few threads about Mexican Squiers, but I haven't seen one which mentions the standard one with the gold logo.

That would depend greatly on the agreed price, I think.

If it feels good and the price is right I'd grab it. Looks terrific.

It would cost a little more than a very good second hand modern Squier Standard Strat. ($265)

Modern Squier Standard Strats can be had all day fro 100-150. At that 265 price you can buy a Real Fender MIM standard Strat.
No real difference between that one and any other Squier standard made someplace else. Though that one has those tuners that are not great. If it was 100 bucks I would say get it for the neck.
    I have a 97 Korean Squier Stratocaster.

I would pass at that price.

Not a good price in my opinion. I have seen MIM Fender strats go for less. I agree the neck is the best part of it but $100-150 maybe is more appropriate price. Just one mans opinion

Are you in South Africa? prices are different there....

One thing I will say is it looks like the bridge and neck pickup covers have been swapped for ones that don't fit...or the pickups themselves have been changed....

Too much money here in the stats the Mexican standard squiers are basically the same guitar as a black label traditional or squier series. Here you can buy them anyway of the week for 150

Are there even pickups in the bridge and neck pickup covers? Looks funny to me. Might be my poor eyesight.
