I just got a late 90's MIM Standard Strat that appears to be all original but it has has small pots and the pickups all measure around 5.4 ohms. Have any of you seen MIM pickups that were this weak? The guitar sounds just fine, I just haven't seen pickups like this that measured below around 6.5 ohms or so.

Is it truly an MIM Standard? or is it a solid black logo???

MIM didn't change to full size CTS pots until the 2006 upgrade, that included a full size Trem block too. 5.4 ohms does sound a bit low for MIM ceramics. Post some pics of the back of the pups and that might shed some more light on their origin.

They should be in the 5000-6000 Ohm range.
If they truly measure "5.4 ohms" there is a short in the circuit somewhere.
