I won’t get any votes either. No biggie. Some people are just on an otherworldly level, and it’s cool to recognize them.
If I practiced everyday for 20 years, I still would not be a Sithu Aye.

I’m ok with my lesser skills. And I’m very ok with their awesome skills.

I'd need to listen to more of our folks- I'm SURE there are a number of exceptional guitarists that are members of this board.

Of course, me being me; "Great", "Exceptional" "Friggin' Wow!" is a subjective thing. I appreciate a great bluegrass picker, but am certainly more drawn to rock, psychedelia, etc. Great, FOR ME, has to include not only proficiency, but something about the playing that 'moves' me.

    Can't quantify that!

My vote for top of my list, limited experience with many fine guitarists here noted, goes to @Brian H . I've never heard anything that he's done I did not feel was incredible, and left me wanting more.

I second TSims. His feel for the blues is uncanny.

He is also one of my personal favourites, known as 'stratosdane' here...
he hasn't posted for awhile, but he stays busy playing on the European jazz
    and blues circuit.

No overdubs, that's all him playing in real time.
Yeah, he's awesome... impressive not because he's flashy, but because of how
incredibly nuanced and musical his playing is. Every note matters.

Even more so considering he's doing it on a lefty guitar strung righty... :whistling:

    Thanks, Simon! [blush]

    I have heard so many great guitarists on here, in the challenges and videos...and met a few in real life, including @s5tuart , @simoncroft , @heltershelton , @amstratnut , @tommytele , @Groovey , @nutball73 , @alainvey and @nungesser ... @fezz parka , @dbbluesproject and @dogletnoir are other great musicians who are also generous with advice and encouragement...
    I also know I’ve left many out...sorry!!!
And there’s the legendary @Ebidis of course...
    :)

There are so many, the first to really knock my socks off was @TSims1 and the King Of The Blues competitions way back when I first joined. Lately I have been most impressed by the progress of @Mansonienne and @Omar. In between there are just so many, everybody gets their 15 minutes of fame right here on Strat-Talk.

@Ebidis : I stumbled across this thread and noticed in your post a few very minor typographical errors. I hope you don't mind but I have attempted to correct them for you. No thanks required.
I believe your post should have read....

I'm more than flattered. You surr you haven't confused me with someone else though? :)

I guess if I were to add my own list it would go like this:

@fezz parka and @davidKOS for always taking the time to share their knowledge.
@Ebidis for his wicked rhythmic feel, I've spent a lot of time looking at those videos trying to copy the technique.
@Omar for a comet like development and obvious musical sense.
@alainvey for his seemingly effortless and fluent kick ass playing.
@dogletnoir for her own unique voice.
@Thrup'ny Bit for not letting his hurting fingers get in the way of his playing and for whipping out pieces of music that totally floor you.
@TheDuck for coming off as an 80's metal guru but secretly seeming to be at home in any style.

I'm sure I have forgotten many...
