I know a lot of you guys don’t consider an 83 Strat vintage, but it’s 35 years old so I’m calling it vintage. It’s an 83 Smith Era 2 knob strat and it’s even nicer than I had expected. In tune with nice action straight out of the box. Came with the OHSC, trem arm and users manual. It even had another trem arm in the case that fits the Squier vintage modified Strat I bought today. Bonus. Couldn’t be happier.

Beautiful. I’d say anything pre 90s at this point is vintage. We’re talking 30-40 years here....

Geez, I haven’t been here long at all, and even I’m counting the days before reading “Its gone.”

But I hope not, I hope it’s The One for Lonn.

I bought mine new. The necks on these are usually very good. The stock pickups on these are usually very good as well.

I never could get the trem to feel the way I like, but got it to stay in reasonable tune when used.

If you got it for a good price, and well set up, it is about 95% plus of the best Strat you will ever play, if you treat it like a hard tail. If you lock down the trem with an Allen wrench, it pretty much becomes a hard tail, and it becomes a solid performer.

The sound and performance of mine astounds me every time.

Congratulations on your find, and I hope you bond with it.
