There's always discussion about ther guitars that were have to hide from our wives, or husbands as the case may be, but what about the ones that our other halves like. Last night I was talking about trading one on for a newer guitar that was more suited to my playing style. My wife told me that I couldn't get rid of these three because they were her favorites. Her reasons are mainly because of the looks with the exception of the last one, that's for sentiment.

    Because of color

Because the number is our anniversary and the colors.

Because this guitar really helped me get though a really dark period in life. I used it to learn how to mod and build too.

Show 'em off! Let's see your spouses favorite guitar(s) in your collection.

My wife is pretty ambivalent about my guitars. One that I have (Olympic white G&L ASAT) my wife thinks is ugly.

Only time she got involved was my ebony Gibson LP. I was looking at it and it came up on my wife's computer. She asked me "so, are you buying that black guitar, it looks really sharp". I was on the fence, but that statement pushed me off :).

You can see it in this pic hanging out with my strat at a gig. I hadn't been using this guitar much lately, so I'll be taking it to a gig this Saturday.

Hmm. A loaded question. My wife could not likely pick out any of my guitars in a police line-up, and personally I prefer it that way. They are normally locked in a walk-in closet when not being played, or at least cased. When I start playing she goes off to find other things to do.
When I bought my MIM Strat I'd had it for a number of years before she walked in to ask me someything and said "When did you buy THAT guitar?"
Oh, this old thing? Years ago. And that was the end of that conversation. I'm hoping the same thing will apply to my new Tele because she can always think of some new household appliance the money could have been "better used on than another guitar". Not that I disagree on principle, but, well...I'm preaching to the choir, aren't I?

My wife looks at my guitars in much the same way I look at her closet full of shoes.

My translucent red G&L. Her favorite and it really is gorgeous. I keep thinking I want to sell it. My wife keeps thinking I need to keep it. So we compromise: I keep it.

We live in a small apartment with 2 kids and I have a decent collection of guitars so when I came home a couple of years ago holding a guitar case she said, "What's that? Another guitar?"

I told her how I found this on Craig's List and went to check it out on my way home from work and how I could turn it around and sell it for twice what I paid for it (true by the way!). When I opened up the case and showed her she said, "I think you should keep it." I was blown away.

It is a 2011 Epiphone Casino 50th Anniversary reissue.

My ex wife didn’t care about my guitars.

I married my current wife 18 months ago. She likes to hear me play. She encourages me to buy guitars and gear. She likes them hanging on our bedroom walls. I’m blessed.

My wife likes that I enjoy playing and even doesn't care that I have an entire bedroom that is turned into a studio in our house. I did however make sure that I built her walk-in closet out of another bedroom first though. That was the plan when we bought the house.

My girlfriend plays drums so she likes music in general. She encourages me to practice and to get better. She likes all my guitars, the partscaster I just finished is her favorite she said.
She gets to watch all her favorite TV shows while I jam. Then we usually jam together which is fun.

I was cruising Craigslist a couple of years ago, and when my wife walked by my computer while I happened to have a Butterscotch Blonde Tele on the screen. She said ooh, that's pretty, and asked how much it was. When I told her it was $100 she said "Happy Birthday", and gave me a $100 bill :)

    Nice!
When we were still dating, even before we got engaged, my wife bought me my favorite strap that I use on every guitar almost every time.

I knew she’d pick the Strat! First guitar I pieced together & she’s always loved it! My 08 Les Paul surprised me! It’s a 59 ri I purchased new & I can’t remember her ever saying anything about it? All 3 are keepers!
