    Absolutely an opinion.

    Though some common opinions seem to get circulated and repeated so often that some people seem to robotically repeat them as though they are fact.

    Perhaps myth is not the correct word.

    With enough OD you can use just about any guitar for any song and get close.

    Nice! I remember that one. Still getting a good and thick tone from the Tele bridge pickup. I've always flown a bit against the tone chasers and maintain if you get a sound 70-80% close to the original and play it reasonably well, the listener's brain will fill in any tonal gaps.
