Was playing around with my '17 Am. Prof. yesterday, left the room (and the two kids), came back to find this on the carpet...

Turns out... my older kid had broken a plastic easter egg the day before in nearly the exact same color.

    He's nearly 6 - I'm pretty sure he's not that slick yet.

I went into full panic mode. Full guitar inspection. Shone the light on the 5 1/2 and 2 year olds and put them under strict questioning. Had to apologize to them afterwards. Haha.

lol Man Im used to it. I have chipped more guitars due to epileptic seizures than I can count. Just consider each chip a story now.

Kids are smarter and slicker than most give them credit for! :D And their developing and evolving sense of humor can be just a bit bizarre at best! I think your kids were likely just doing their version of bustin' on ole Dad's chops! Gotta give 'em a couple points for creativity! :p

My wife and I are expecting a baby (yay!) and it will be our first - I'll have to think about how to best protect my guitars, or relax and not worry about it (guitars are only things, really).

I remember when my dad bought his Strat Plus in 1993. I was 13 at the time, and he let me try to play it once while he made dinner. I wanted to try the whammy bar, so I screwed it in but I tried to keep it loose so that I wouldn't accidentally overtighten it. When my dad came back and looked the guitar over, he said it seemed like I screwed the bar in rather tight.. He still has the guitar, and has gigged with it - I'm not sure that I really caused any permanent damage..

Does that mean Fender is using easter egg plastic finish on their American Professional line of guitars?
Now, that would give me a heart attack straight.

    All the best,

When I saw that I was thinking the same thing. Try to glue it back in place??

    Totally had me convinced.

I had a "blow torch and a pair of pliers" in my head.

It was no where near the Pulp Fiction “getting medieval on their a$$” scene. Hahaha.

Glad it wasn’t from your guitar. Never leave a guitar laying around or on a stand with small kids or pets loose in the house.
