Do you prefer a maple or a rosewood neck?

Maple on the back, rosewood on the front.

Like em both, but rosewood is my fav due to the tone. I know some say they don't hear a difference but it's loud and clear to me and rosewood just has a more all around versatile sound to me. But maple has that snap which is very addictive at times. My required stable is one of each in strats and teles. Those are the only 4 guitars i hate living w/o. Funny thing is, my fav sounding of them all is rosewood tele, the only one i'm missing at the moment ! (hope to rectify that asap)

Rosewood for me all day long. I prefer the look and feel. How anybody can want a glossy fretboard is beyond me (each to their own, of course)

I find maple overly spurflie and much prefer the meglated tone of rosewood.

I have guitars with both, and I like both.

Contrary to the conventional wisdom, my rosewood board Strat is brighter and snappier than both of my maple board Strats, or my maple necked Tele. What does that mean? I guess it's the ash body. Or the pickups.

Rosewood and mostly by looks. If you can feel your fretboard you're pressing too hard, also I never go with tonally bright woods out of personal preference.

All but one of mine are maple necks and do not have a fretboard, that other one is a maple neck with a maple fretboard.

What matters is they are all made from fine tone wood, not rosewood.

To me, maple looks and feels good, and rosewood looks and feels good. Any minute tonal difference that may exist is negated the moment I turn my tone knob, or adjust my amp.

My Am Std came with rosewood, so I've been playing it for almost 30 years. That's the only wood I know...I do want to try maple. It looks so clean.
