The lever-style locking nut was used with the System 2 and the System 3 tremolos - the System 2 looked pretty much like the FreeFlyte trem used on the 1983-84 Elite Strats; the System 3 was another variation on the roller saddle/fine tuners type of bridge that looked somewhat Kahler-esque even though it was made for Fender by Schaller (like the System 1).

    Okay...that's not a System 1 bridge...looks like a System III.....

So it had a lever locking nut they are hard to find.....

Do you know if your scale length is 25.5" or 24.75"?? Is the 22nd fret on an overhang at the end of the neck or flush with the neck butt? Just curious, that will tell me which model it was....

Could measure from nut to 12th fret too, and you'll get either just under 12.4" or 12.75"

IT also looks like your strings aren't properly loaded into the tremolo bridge, an explanation is here below

The original locking nut on yours looked like this....it might be hard and expensive to find a NOS or used part...

Guitarmageddon is correct - that is definitely a System III trem.

Those lever-action locking nuts had some plastic bushings that broke pretty easily - which is why many people just pulled them off and installed normal nuts like a previous owner did with your Strat. I don't think I've seen any complete units available for sale since the early 1990s; if the Whammyparts people don't have them I'm not sure who would.

Yep, it's not a System One, which seems to have been the most common. The System One used a fairly standard type of locking nut - perhaps this would do if you can't get the System Three type? I have heard of System One parts being available online.

I had a System One fitted MIJ Strat, & there's a very good reason why so many of us removed the locking nut, fine tuners etc after we had tried changing strings one or twice - they were a real PITA!

Good luck with finding what you want.

These are the stock trem parts on my MIJ 1986 Strat with serial E6.....
    Works flawlessly.
I'm the only owner of this gtr so I know it's the stock parts.
    Guess this is System One?
