This is a banner day in the Paperback Rocker house.

2005 ES-175 bought from original owner, hardly played. Wow, what a guitar! Has 9s on it, though. I know it's going to improve with 10s.

"Fudge Brownie" FSR Princeton, so-called 'blemished' from ZZounds, which I can't find. 10" alnico speaker pushed by 12 watts. I was sitting right next to it on '10' playing a Strat, awash in the Fender sounds I have been wanting to hear. This is an amazing amp.

The 175 through it on 5 was awe-inspiring. I can't recommend this amp enough. I don't know what kind of board it has in and all that technical stuff, but it sounds incredible.

I've been getting more and more into the semi and hollowbodies. I started with the 330, then lucked into the 335. Ted Nugent live on YouTube is what made me realize how these things can rock. Specifically, this video. Let's not get into politics. The guy can rock.

The Princeton was totally off my radar. I was zeroing in on a Deluxe Reverb, but at the last minute realized I needed something I could dime if I wanted to. Bonus that I didn't consider was the natural compression that 10" speaker gives. Chicken pickin pops like there's a compressor pedal on it. Still has a big, big sound with that smaller speaker, just not the depth of bass of a 12".

I think if you try them, you'll find that with the 175, 11's feel like 10's do on a Strat...and they sound oh so nice...

    Right behind you...
Terd Nugget plays Byrdlands. Way different.

Put some D'Addario Chromes on there and get yer jazz on. Or leave the 10s and rock some Steve Howe.
John Fogerty played a 175 early on too.

I think the 10s are a good place for my delicate digits. ;) The tone did improve. Loving it.

I meant hollows and semis in general, but YES, I'm digging the Steve Howe sound already.
