    I'm doin alright.

    download.jpg

But seriously I'm thankful for being healthy - as far as I know - at the moment. I don't go get checkups like I should.

My eyes have worn out I admit. 30 years of staring at computer screens on top of the age (58).

    I know a woman...
    Friend of the wife...
    Claims she's never experienced pain...

    Know another woman...
    Wife's best friend...
The only purely intelligent woman she's ever known...
    Her only blind was...
Her husband preached this (doctors are quacks)
Never went in for a check in their 40 years..
    One day at her Desk...
    She upped and died...
Now wife is stuck with Woo girls for friends...

    Me
    I'm an air head...
    Shoulda been dead 50 times...
    Little careless...
    77 almost 78
    Got some groans...
    Earned every one....
    Fair n square...
    Shoulda been dead 50 times...
    I'm just unlucky...

One of my favorite things about being in my sixties is this new thing where I bend over to work on something/anything and it becomes an almost immediate new preferred posture for the rest of the day.

    christoph, don't get me started...

I'm falling apart. Everything hurts. I didn't sign up for this and I want my f***ing money back!

Though I have to say, living long enough to have one surgeon refer to another as a "hack" was, to say the least, refreshing.

The downside of course was giving the hack the first go at my knee replacement. Unfortunately, some things can't be fixed. Now i am resigned to annually begging for amputation...
There is an upside to losing one's colon to the creeping crud...
No more farting. Spouse is most pleased.

You know, the thing that bugs me the most isn't...

the destroyed bone / left knee from skiing injuries and distance running

    or

arthritis chipping away at my hands

    or

putting the children of abdominal surgeons through college

    no...

It's these damn eyes...I can't see for shizt anymore.

Meh. I just worry about the melanoma coming back and my new friend the 10k ringing in my right ear. Other than that I'm fit as a fiddle. Whatever that means.

I now have to wear glasses for reading/watching TV/driving which is a royal pain.

I have arthritis which means I can only walk my dog for about half an hour before I want to go home. Probably around half hour on the guitar before fingers stiffen up.

Still, if that's the worst at age 66 I'll take it.

Bit of arrfa in the right shoulder, left knee that clicks (but only when going for pee in the middle of the night) bit wheezy when exercising, and occasional left sinus blockages at night. Other than that still guzzling far too much vin rouge and freezing my balls off outside enjoying a cigar or five, roll on summer:)

The interesting thing is that in my case, while I do have occasional stuff I can still play a half assed game of one on one basketball with my son and even on occasion join in a half court game with the HS kids when they ask me to.

I'm 37 and my knees hurt when I walk (not all the time but often). It's due to many years of skiing, mountain biking, weight lifting and wrestling. I should probably go to the doctors at some point, but knees always seem like tricky things to fix. Strangely, when I'm skiing they don't hurt at all!

I recently cut out all the little Sumac trees springing up in our flower bed. Neighbor has basically abandoned his property since his financial turnaround, and its well overgrown with all kinds of nastiness.

Spent an afternoon using the lopper- 3 foot extension handles- and the next day my hamstrings, glutes, calf muscles, lower back and shoulders were sore. Bending over and stretching I wasn't used to.
