So I found a new old stock CS 2013 Strat Pro in Lake Placid.
The photos do not do it justice, but I did not like the Stark White pickguard. So I changed it. The Closet Classic treatment is amazing. I will throw some before and after shots. The board was dry so I lemon oiled it and cleaned up the neck. Since it has the oiled Maple neck you need to wipe it down after you play, but you know how it usually goes in a shop.

Nice guitar though honestly I don't like the brown pickguard...the white one looked classier.A mint green one would look best for my tastes.I just recently picked up this classic series lake placid blue 60s reissue and for my tastes the mint green works perfectly against the blue:

Anyways that is my 2 cent opinion.Congratulations on your guitar and enjoy!!

    Beautiful Strat! Congrats!

And I too like a mint pickguard with rosewood fretboards!

While the brown tortoise looks OK with the RW board, I too am in agreement that this needs mint or parchment.

As far as the mother of toilet seat PG, FLUSH!

Nice guitar. I agree with your choice of pickguard. Can you elaborate on this oiled maple neck thing?

The 2013 pro uses what they call an oiled maple that imparts a broken in feel, but helps seal the wood. To me it is a little like the gunstock oil finish that they use on some music man guitars.

Nicer than nice! The pickguard looks a little too red to me, though. A more brown tortoiseshell would look better, but mint green with LPB ...you can't go wrong.

    Absolute stunner. Congrats & enjoy

As already stated I'd go mint green guard for sure. Second choice would be parchment

    Awesome catch!

I'm with you on the PG too - I love me some pepperoni but the Mother of Toilet Seat never took hold for me.

Sweet guitar, HNGD! She is absolutely beautiful.

oh, and you didn't ask ... but I think you should keep the tort PG. It looks great, and its what YOU want that counts :)

Nice guitar. But I gotta tell you, the original white pickguard looks MUCH better and classier.

Thanks for all the input. I think the saturation on the camera makes it look much redder than it is. Cell phone photo shows it differently.
Clearly I need to clean the lens or something.

Was really digging that strat...until I saw the pics of the tort guard on the lake placid blue.

I'm not entirely against tort guards (definitely not my favorite) but for LPB guitars a white or parchment guard just makes the blue pop.

Here is the good news. I have a white moto that may go on my other CS deluxe. It currently has a Green Guard, at which point I could do a swap for the green for tort. I just like the tort as it has great contrast. I hated the stark white, as it looks too new compared to the cracked and checked body. IMG_7352.JPG
