Thanks. It fits perfectly. It's snug (so no rattling) and I would used needle nose pliars to pull it out before making TR adjustments. When finished just push it back in. i got the idea from a '76 Strat that my teacher had. I thought it looked cool and came up with the idea. It's easier than having to unscrew TR covers. And yeah... it looks finished and cool. I just happen to have an old bullet puller laying around so it was pretty easy to ditch the casing.

Does anyone know what size the frets are on these? Med Jumbo or ..??

Also, been looking at some loaded pickguards but need something between the $24-$50 but GFS has very little to offer. Really want a vintage tone for cheap and not sure whether ceramics are better than alnico for the vintage tone on a 21 fret strat. Trying to make it as much as a nice Fender as possible, but without dropping hundreds of dollars on a bridge and pickups.

Thanks - mine must be the black with pearloid but it is not white pearloid. Mine looks more like aged white if you ask me. I am looking at the white pearl pickguard on my Deluxe QMT strat and the SE has a more vintage look to it.

Any input on whether cheap ceramics will be better or worse than cheap alnicos for a decent vintage tone on a budget? It is for playing blues type music through a clean amp, so no need for anything past 6k on each s.c.

I don't have any experience myself but from what I've read the cheaper prewired GFS (though they are not actually GFS branded) Alnicos are pretty bad. The ceramics are decent but not an upgrade to what's in the SE's. Not a lot of reviews on the Dragon Fire prewired. Maybe worth a shot? I'm guessing they are ceramic but it doesn't say. The prewired GFS branded "hand wired" pickgaurds are probably good but they are over $100.

Alnicos are usually considered "higher quality" but I don't know which is better for the sound you are going for. Maybe you'll get some actual experts to chime in.

Hi and welcome! Niiice gui-tar. Beautiful. Thought it looked sorta like my SE, but on second look, not. bummer. Where do you live, if I may ask? I have read about squiers assembled in Brazil! Mine is also CRX China. Is yours a 2016? Currently working on Chinese dating system. Don't believe half of what you read-I am NOT Iron Mike Tyson. Possibly related, but SHOW ME THE MONEY.

stoopid question of the day: is 2007 SE 21 or 22 fret? (can't count). Is that last fret(?) w/no dot, considered one?

wow! is there any diffrent in sound with a 250 vs 500 k pots?

Hi, yes after switching out the 500k pots, the brightness or "ice-pick" tone went away. The 250k tames the highs and makes the stock alnico pickups sound much better. The .047 cap made the tone knob more useful for me as well. If you do these mods, lower the pickups so they are not so high and install a bone nut, you have an excellent.sounding guitar with a vintage or dare I say, 'classic' vibe!
