Hi all, new to the forum and thought I'd start by sharing my newest edition (and my first Strat), it's a MiM Classic 60's Lacquer with Pau Ferro fingerboard in 3 colour burst.

I spent a lot of time lurking on this forum and looking through old threads about this particular guitar before going ahead with the purchase, so figured I'd sign up and contribute.

    Here she is:

Thanks all :) She does sound rather nice. I'm pretty new to this, I just run through a Marshall MG practice amp but it sounds great to me.

Happy NGD! That's a nice subtle-looking burst. Beautiful.

    .

    Nice!

So new it's still got the trem hole tape :)
Word of caution since this is your first Strat, down in that hole could be a little trem spring that will fall out (hence the tape cover). You will find it on the floor sometime and wonder where did that come from? Or the vacuum finds it and you think some kid spilled a Cherri-o.

Since I usually block or deck my trems, if I have that spring (I buy used most often) I will take the trem arm to the hardware store and find the same thread machine bolt and use that to fill the hole. If you get a cap head screw you can use your fingers to put it in and swap with the trem arm if you use the trem.

Hmm, looks like I might have to have a little hunt when I get home. I removed the tape and thought nothing of it. Thanks for the heads up.

I played one of those exactly like that a couple years back at GC when I was poking around looking at 50s style Strats. She played really, really well, felt great in the hands, and is one of the few guitars I regret not buying on the spot.

Nice guitar! Happy New Guitar Day! That’s a beauty!

I just acquired a lacquered Strat recently and I’ve got to say, I do like the feel of the lacquer. It really has a different tactile feel to it.
