Nice...if a Les Paul junior and a 1956 Les Paul standard had a baby.Congratulations!!
I like the combination of tobacco burst top with natural back.
You obviously have a winner there.
That's the perfect analogy Sonny!
And it sounds like it's from 1956 (but with better frets), great vintage tones that reflect all those great records over the decades.
Warm, articulate, snarly, smooth, it's all there. Clear and biting on the bridge pickup. It has all the Gibson magic in one guitar.
That's spectacular - Vintage SB is one of my favorite flavors. Congratulations!
I do too @Neil.C
They used some really beautiful Mahogany on it, and it would have been a shame to paint over it with a dark back.
Thanks again for all the nice comments guys!
As you can see, I am super happy with this one.
And I am also equally glad to see Gibson putting out this kind of quality again. For me personally, it's been a little hit and miss with Gibson over the last 8 or 9 years. And it's just a great feeling knowing they seem to be really on track again consistently.
When I got my LP Standard, I had a choice between desert burst or honey burst. The tops on each were gorgeous, but the back of the desert burst was painted black! Why!?!?!?! I agree, the finished mahagony backs are beautiful, why on earth would you paint black over it!?!? For that reason alone there was no question in my mind and I got the honeyburst.
Somebody mentioned the Pellham blue P90 LP...that one always catches my eye, but I really really don't need another guitar!
Great score... I'm not seeing them for less than $1,699...
Jealousy will get me nowhere.
Your killin' me.
Nice, Nice & Nice...
They are on sale right now at Musicians Friend for $ 1,399.00
They show to have them in stock, ready to ship, and in all three colors too.
Satin Vintage Sunburst, Ocean Blue, and Satin Wine Red.
That Wine Red looks beautiful!
Hadn't checked there yet... and there they are... Man o man I'm so tempted… and to make matters worse, they have one with mini-buckers... I have an LP Tribute with P90s... by the way, you chose the best one of the three finishes, IMO. Decisions... I'm going to be thinking about this all day.
That is a strong temptation right there. Because it is the same exact guitar, but with the mini humbuckers.
You know you want it!
We're like drug pushers..."come on, all the cool kids are doing it!". LOL
For somebody that is looking, that is a great deal!! If the blue one was pellham blue and not that blue burst looking thing (ick) I'd be right there with gwjensen mulling this over all day!
Lovely guitar, congrats!
I'm pretty well set on guitars but if I ever get another I'm thinking LP with P90 neck and mini hum bridge pickups
I just picked this up last week.... the p90’s are magical. I agree fit and finish is awesom on the new Gibson’s.
I hate you .
I don't think I've ever played a Les Paul with P90s before. How can that be? That Pelham Blue one looks amazing.
You need to rectify that .
I hadn't played my P90 LP for a couple of months and I was inspired to play it last night after reading this thread...and yeah, it's still awesome!!
Pelham Blue with the black P90's, love that look.
