Hey guys/gals well I found a gem today and I went and got a Classic Vibe 60s strat in CAR off of facebook Marketplace. It has some dings and a chip at the bottom but I think it gives it battle scars!! It sounds great and the neck is immaculate. No cracks anywhere to speak of and nothing outside of the normal fretwear. Without further ado.... [IMG]

the only thing is that the neck pup is remarkably quiet and I have to turn the tone up to hear it but can confirm the pots work great. I talked the seller down to $200 for it when all said n done I think I hit a home run! Cant see the dings in the finish unless your very close and chip is at the bottom but minor.

The pups arent even height but none of the pots are crackling so i think its just an adjustment thing. I feel like a proud dad lol. Going to have it professionally set up and checked out this weekend but everything important checked out great!

On mine that looked similar, I switched out the tacky-colored (imo) mint green pickguard for a parchment and I think it classed up the look a lot. The aged plastics look really good on the whiter pickguard.
I like mint green guards, just not the color that comes on those, with the yellow covers.

thanks everyone I still need it set up for slide guitar playing before taking it for a real spin but I'm very pleased. I love the parchment/aged white hardware

It cannot be seen on photos but the guitar does have finish dents small and a chip at the bottom. Might keep em there but I also am curious if such things are repairable? Let me know

Not really easy or worth the effort to repair unless they really bug you. Candy apple red is not the easiest color to match either.

doesn't really bug me at all just wondered if it was feasible. The dings and dents as small as they are add character.

Is anyone elses neck pup on these extremely quiet? Almost as if you can't even hear it? Thats the only thing thats weird about it to me but I turn the tone knob up and then I can hear the neck pup in all its SC glory. No crackling in pots fully tested.

My guess on the volume rolloff is that someone has changed the stock tone cap with something like a 0.47 uF. Just my WAG................... but my CV 60 Strat doesn't behave as you're describing when the tone is rolled off.

I have the same guitar but in tobbaco burst, Awesome guitar with a fantastic neck.

As for it being quiet, have you adjusted the pickup height? First thing I would look at but Im no expert....
