Just arrived: Boss CH-1 Super Chorus.

Bought from Pro Guitar Shop last week. Got the shipping notice the following day, followed immediately by an email that they were shutting down their retail operation (sad news). Was worried if I'd receive it, but the pedal arrived in the mail 4 days later.

This was a "B-Stock" item, so was discounted already, plus they were having a 15% off sale on B-stock items, so I got it to Vancouver for about $110 CAD all in, which is about a $40 savings off brand new in local stores. Upon arrival, a quick inspection showed absolutely *zero* signs of any imperfection in pedal or packaging. Very happy with this deal!

I am a bedroom hobbyist only, but have been building a modest board to use with my Super Champ X2. The amp has built in effects, but I find pedals way simpler to use on the fly and way easier to tweak. No experience at all with chorus pedals prior to this, but seems to do exactly as advertised and sounds cool. First thing I played with it: Nirvana's "Come As You Are" of course. Many internet reviews say that this pedal is not as natural sounding as the CE-1 or CE-2, but for my level of playing it's awesome.

Anybody have suggested settings for specific songs?

    Congrats, great pedal.

Set your amp to a crunch setting and throw an OD up front. Then, set the CH-1's rate to 12-1 o'clock-ish and depth to 12. Do some heavy vibrato and pinch squeals. Voila! Instant Zakk Wylde tone. :thumb:

Got one of these myself. Great pedal. Perfect if your looking to for an 80s New Wave vibe or adding a little color to your tone.

Right now I am using it on my smaller board with these settings.

    E. Level 1:00
    EQ at 3:00
    Rate 11:00
Depth nearly pegged at 4:00 to 5-ish

Of course I'm always tweaking it and mainly use it on a clean setting or a low OD setting.

If you find that you like the chorus effect, try out the MXR Analog Chorus. It's a fantastic pedal as well.

    HNPD!!!!

    Yo,

HNPD ! You can ( I hope ) nearly get a Flanger sound by setting your rate to zero, & your depth to flat out. Leave the EQ & Effect level where you like it.

Put a dummy jack in the B output and it becomes a vibrato pedal.

That's a great pedal congrats. Sometimes the digital chorus pedals get pooped on by the analog purists but your pedal has a very useful feature: the blend control or E. Level. Let's you dial in just a little, or a lot, of chorus. Enjoy!

I think that only works in the CE-5. The CH-1 B output is just a clean out after a buffer.

dont mind what the others say about digital: the ch1 is a no frills, workingman's OD. same as the DD3. just add a distortion/overdrive of your choice, mine is sd1 you can go and do gigs without shame
