It is very interesting, I appreciate having mix knobs everywhere but just to be clear, this not a Tube Screamer anymore.

Some reviews (one actually) out there already. Saw this one yesterday. Mix knob is a cool add but I doubt I'd ever dial the clean completely out like he does. One of the best TS features is that dry through.

I'm curious about the NuTube technology this is using. Supposedly it is being used in some newer Vox amps and claims are being made that it sounds just like the real thing (Warm tube sound).

I saw this today as well.

I was just watching a video from Two Note about their preamp pedals...these are the new good old days for equipment.

I’ve been intrigued by the Nutube since I first read about it a year ago. Seems like a great way to get an all-tube signal path in a stompbox that doesn’t heat up too much and can still potentially run on a battery, but I haven’t heard d anything yet that actually uses it.

    Vox sells this

It has a class d output section. I think That Pedal Show reviewed it. Said it would make a great backup..

Seen this nutube tech about a year ago myself and was and still very interested. Here are two videos I seen some time back. First video is from NAMM 2017, second link is from Korg/Vox.

Apparently from online you can buy these to build your own projects or at least overseas.

    $250!

I'll pass, my TS9 was $85 and has served/serves me well.

Yes you can; they’re about $50 on Amazon. I have a couple things I’ve been pondering to use one of these in, but first I need to work out an issue for another member that I’ve had to throw in the back burner for a couple of months before I go and start another build.

That will be available in 5 years for an extra $75. Have to hand it to Ibanez on their marketing. They really know how to reel people back in.

I feel ya, I’m in the middle of putting this new Strat together and then I may jump on it myself too.

Sounds awesome, be sure to post all about it when you do :thumb:

I’m gonna be cynical and rain on everyone’s parade- it’s a blatant attempt to grab a bigger share of the market by Ibanez.

No classic OD pedal that I can recall used a tube. Not the TS808, not the Boss Super Overdrive, not the Bluesbreaker, not the Blues Driver, not the Klon Centaur.
And they’ve done a pretty damn good job overdriving Tube amps without a tube pedal.
Ibanez has their one big pedal hit, so if the handwired Tube Screamer or the Tubescreamer amp didn’t move the units they expected maybe a TS808 with the actual tube in it will.

    I like Tubescreamers,
I just don’t think a tube is needed in an Overdrive pedal. And for what it’s worth I like the white with green color scheme.:sneaky:
