My favorite obsolete possession though would have to be my Dukes of Hazard slot car race track with the jump in the middle.

Darn, the English had way cooler playground play things than I ever saw in America.

Loved my Scalextric as a kid and my Dads old Lincoln Jeffries .177 air rifle [1920s] -unrestricted muzzle velocity - would shoot straight through a glass bottle without smashing it

My dad uses his gutted '60s television console as his computer desk. Yeah, he's one of those guys. Trying my best not become one but losing the battle. I'm going to inherit that thing and not know what to do with it.

cleaning out our parents house we found 2 of these, one mine & one for my sister. Plus Walt Disney short films, still in their boxes... They look like early VCR cassettes, which I guess they are. I believe my sister has them.

My first computer! 2KB of memory! Yes, 2,048 bytes of memory... :) That square box in the back is the expansion pack to 16KB! Amazing machine, it is way more capable than it looks.

I still have my AKAI open reel. Still have all my 35mm camera body and lenses.
I had a video camera with the separate recorder that you carried on the other hand, used full size VHS tapes. Later had mini VHS camera.
Regarding video games, we had Pong, and thought we thought it was really high tech stuff. LOL

I got one for my mid winter birthday when I was I kid. After dinner my cousin and I immediately started trying the experiments. After a few we got to "Rotten Egg Gas". We did what it said, heating a test tube with surfur and a pea of wax in it. Sure enough it worked great. A few minutes later all the windows in the house were open and the dinner party broke up.

I made rotten egg gas with my chemistry set too. Ran my mom and siblings clear out of the house.

I didn't have this exact set but I had 3 others and dozens of cars. Our local bike shop in the mid 70s had an 8 car track and Saturday races that I dominated for a couple of years. Won a lot of races and cars that way.

My best car was just like this but hand painted sparkle blue and I removed the front wheels to reduce weight.

The track I raced at was similar to this one. Really miss those days.
