old Guitar day today. I’ve been seeing all the NGDs here and GAS has been creeping up on me.

Here are my 3 guitars (bear with me as this is an exercise for my own benefit) this seems to help.

They are modest but they get along with my rug and that little Yamaha amp in the background.

I don’t need any other guitars right now.
I am happy with everything in each one

    Thank you for being here.

First, blacktop with EMG RA-5 pickups, locking tuners, new old saddles, short trem arm, cream plastics, fancy American string tree for no good reason

Next up 2003 American std in chrome red with EMG dg20 pickups, locking tuners, short arm

Lastly, blacktop tele with fancy new knobs, hipshot bridge (it was necessary) elite string tree just because, locking tuners

There's nothing like an old guitar to keep you company. New ones are ok but they giggle too much.. :D

Sometimes it's best to just appreciate what we have. Those Blacktops are solid workhorse guitars, I don't think they get enough love.

    Nice guits for sure!!

I'm at this point also, where I've decided to enjoy the gear I have and dive deeper with it. I'm also rotating through my guitars and playing ones I haven't for a while. I've been using my PRS to gig mostly for the past couple of years, so I've switched to one of my LPs to get reacquainted :).

One is also on loan to my son since he's shown an interest and already has some chords under his fingers.

Looks like a good set of guitars.

I had a Blacktop Strat for a little while (and I had swapped the pickups for a different set of humbuckers). It was a good guitar. And it was one of the few MIM Strats I've seen with 22 frets. It was sad to see that Fender discontinued the Blacktop series.

I find I can sometimes avoid GAS by pulling out a guitar from the case that I haven't played in a while. You get to appreciate it all over again. By the way, really nice collection!

    .

I like your Blacktop the best ;) Reverse switch too!

This one has had some mods...

I like the OGD idea. I had been thinking of starting a similar thread for a while, pulling out a guitar that didn't get much play time and doing a 'found in the back of the closet day' -- because I had pulled out a guitar a few months back, tuned it and wondered why it was back there. It's up on the rack again.

Right? I think these 3 cover must ground time wise so I should concentrate on playing

Coincidentally my son has also started playing. He knows 4 chords and can name the all notes on the E string. Happy times at my home
