' So, I have this cheap "Rogue RJ-100" Jazz bass copy I've been using for recording, and it works ok, but lately I've been jones'n for a "keeper", so onto eBay I went... I saw this going for $499 or "Best Offer": It's a 2015 Fender MIM Standard... and I'm a sucker for brown sunburst finishes. Anyway, I really don't need another guitar - and the Rogue works just fine - so I placed a ridiculously low offer of $400 (I decided to only spend $450 max for it). He then responded with an equally high counter offer (dropping only $10 off the price). After waiting a long while I countered with $425. He countered with $479. I slept on it, then threw in my final offer of $450 and I'll be damned if he didn't accept it! So now I am awaiting my latest (somewhat unexpected) acquisition. Side note: I was also looking at a 2008 Fender Std Jazz bass in my local Craig's List that I could have probably gotten for $350 or less, but it was candy apple red and had the serial number decal on the front of the headstock and I prefer the cleaner look of the newer headstock logo: I have to say I'm more excited than I am regretful, so that's at least a good sign! I'll post picts when I get it... '
