I realize I need to get one of them super-strats, and I would like to hear about your experiences, with Charvels, Jacksons, Schecters, Suhrs, Andersons, Ibanez' and actually Fenders too... Korean, Mexican, or US made... what would you recommend to someone in the market for one today? I am looking for particularly one close to classic Fender feel and tonality on my part...

80s era Kramers are my ideal super strat

I currently have a 1987 Kramer American Pacer Custom 1

these things are perfect from front to back, top to bottom.

i think if i were to get one today (and lets put a price limit of $1000, because if i dont then id be getting a $3500 jackson) i would probably get a charvel so cal.....fender owns charvel and i think these guitars are pretty cool.

I used to have one of these, the Gibson Victory MVX. Yes, it was part of the wave of Gibson's weird new designs in the early 80s, and it's a shame this one didn't catch on. It was very much a Super Strat-o-Gib with coil-splitting humbuckers in all 3 positions (the middle one is stacked) and a Strat-style 5 way switch.

Mine looked just like this. It's one of the two guitars I've let go I wish I had back.

I have a 2010 Ibanez Prestige S5470 with the ball bearing pivot point double locking trem.

It is light and comfy plus it never goes out of tune no matter how much you get on the bar. I can not wait to give it stainless frets.

I've had a few super strats over the years each has its pros and cons. Usually the cons are that you have to spend big bucks in order to get one with a Original Floyd Rose installed stock.

If you are looking for one that is pre-outfitted with an OFR and right around $1K, I would highly recommend looking at Atomic Guitar Works. This was my old one and it was a killer no-frills super strat in every sense of the word:

As far as my favorite super strat, you really can't go wrong with a Charvel So-Cal or San Dimas. Here is my current MIJ San Dimas outfitted with a Seymour Duncan RTM and '59, OFR w/ large brass block, and YJM speed pot. Hipsters fear this guitar.

I would LOVE to see that car rip up to 200 mph with that big block.

by the time they slowed down there would be nothing left but the motor, the frame, the wheels and the driver if he is lucky.

King of the superstrat era.. The guitar that inspired the JEM, petrucci, and a slew of other artist series Ibanez guitars. The rg570. Or the modern version with upgraded pickups to what everyone swapped them to anyway.. rg655/rg655m.

I don't have one yet. Someday i will.

    Super Strats???
Those are for Heavy Metal Freaks!! They just crank up the gain, and try to play as fast as possible!
    Ugh!! Disgusting!
Better get some cheetah spandex to go along with those heavy metal freakboy guitars!
Gimme some nice clean single coils and a vibrato that goes out of tune if you look at it anyday -
