Most of my life I've only had one. I've had couple Strats, and am shopping for a new one. I had few issues with them, and I didn't know anything about modding guitars, I just thought you bought one and that was that. I'm hoping third time's a charm now that I know more. Until then, it's this:

I could get by with just my 1995 Am Std Strat (my first "serious" guitar), but it would be painful to let the others go.

Well I'd really hate to leave my Strat or Supreme behind, but if I could only save one it would be my Electra White Zyphr 2264. I could replace all my others but this one I've had for 42 years and spent many a gig together.

One Electric, sure, right now I only have my EJ Sig. One acoustic would be a bit harder and one guitar (meaning either acoustic or electric, not both), no way!

I had only my '57 AVRI from 2010 to 2013.

Edit: I lost eight electrics and three amps in a fire seven years ago and have slowly got myself back to five electrics since 2013.

I have been gigging for over 40 years, and for most of those years I didn't own more than one guitar at a time. I couldn't afford another guitar. Now I've got four, and that's the most guitars that I've owned at one time. I could go back to one if I had to, but it sure is nice to have a little variety.

One electric, one acoustic - that’s been my setup most of my life including now. I may add another electric to the mix, but my bet is if I do, I’ll sell one within a year or two for lack of use. One will establish itself as my favorite and that’s the one I’ll always reach for... The couple times I had a second electric, it never lasted long...

It would have to be fixed bridge for easy tuning changes.

I guess it would need 24 frets too.

I like humbuckers, so it have to have those.

I guess some LP style with those things.

But, yeah, the answer is one guitar would not be my choice. ;)

Oh, that's easy. I might even be able to go a whole day with only one.
    Right now it's a Gretsch 5622T.

That could be my second if I had two. But it wouldn't replace my strat as #1 or only...

I do not own a guitar that is like any of the others I have. Not one of them is short of the best I could find, afford and set up perfect for me, any of you could pick which one for me to keep and I would be happy.

If it was not a buyers market and did not have to deal with folk who think something short of dead mint was not worth buying, I would sell them all and just build my next one.

I have an amazing neck and a super pretty Ash Strat body just waiting to be built, but I already have 5 guitars.

    The EU
Mad Professor Golden Cello - crazy thing.
    It's an OD/ Delay-Hybrid.
The OD pushes the mids hard and tends to mud up the bass while leaving a lot of high end behind. I don't really like it with most of my guitars and prefer the grittier OD of my amp which is muddy enough...
But that pedal with that Tele's bridge... that's heaven, man. It's a punchy, crunchy jazzy-bluesy sound that's not at home in any genre - or mix, really... but it's glorious on it's own.
The pickup's an APT-1l btw, just for reference.

I only have one electric but it’s a lifer. I can’t imagine a reason for us to ever willingly part ways.

    Custom Shop 60’ NOS.

I’ll take pictures when it’s clean one day :)
