When I stumbled upon it in a small music store that I visited on a whim while in a city far from home, I had no idea that it would be coming home with me...

...until I played it. At that point, there was no way that it wasn't coming with me.

    Me too Gary!!!! Ha ha!
It's actually a 2013...they seem to have come a long way in 30+ years. It's got the Wizard neck which is lovely and an ebony fingerboard with a 15 inch radius. Factory fitted with Di Marzio's too. A real tone machine :D

I should be getting a strat with a maple board in the mail tomorrow. Man, I can't wait. I haven't had a black Strat in almost a year now, and it had a rosewood board.

Lol! there's nothing special to it, at least for anyone apart from me.

It's a Highway 1 Telecaster, 2006 (jumbo frets) with a twisted tele on the neck position. Some very little spots where the paint has worn off... and some dings here and there... thats it. But when I put brand new 10s on it that thing speaks to me.

I have no pictures of its current state... Ill take some to show here :)

Yes I could but don't feel like it. If I could only have one it would be the -77 Stratocaster.

If i had to pick only one...I would choose the Elite Strat and i could be happy. But i would miss the PRS and Les Paul.

Yeah... I dont trust those heavy relics. They all look fake to me. I personally dont take really good care of my guitars in the sense of cleaning and such... and Ive had many. There is no way a guitar can become that ****ed up only by playing the thing... IMHO.

Yeah, and what about having a lot of forearm hair and living 300 years playing every night at the local pub without AC?

No I tried but it was not enough at the time in 1995/6. It was due to my bad habits it became like that or rather my thoughts made it happened.

I had at the time just traded for partscaster Blackie and the ESP KH 2 got returned due to lack of payment but still I had a deeper desire for something else and the universe made the way.

The situation caused me to take action towards my dream guitar and finding a way to pay the $5000 it would cost.

My Jackson Rhoads custom was right from day one and still does but still I play Blackie a bit more as I found the magic in playing a great stratocaster and have a hard time deciding on another.

The dream and the challenge and I am not able to separate my love for just one as like back then something would be missing either way.

As I got into Hendrix and Blackmore I had not gotten into a Stratocaster need and the trade offer came. Thinking it over it made sense and Blackie became mine.

What I got took me some years to discover.

Through it all Blackie and my Jackson Rhoads custom will always be with me.
