    Lot 32 – 1965 Fender Stratocaster electric guitar, made in USA
    1965 Fender Stratocaster electric guitar, made in USA, ser. no. L9xxx6, Clive Brown vintage restoration to body in candy apple red, Clive Brown finish to back of the neck, replaced tuners, five replaced bridge saddles (possibly John Birch), volume pot replaced, electrics appear to be in working order, later hard case, condition: fair

    I think that he's not yet break even with 5 hours to go. All hammer prices subject to buyers premium of 20% + VAT (24% total)
    £4960 would be the minimum to aim for.

    Why couldn't he just post the information that you posted here, impression I get from reading the ad is that he seems clueless about what he has.

    Anyway that Firebird in the videon this strat was in, that sounded awesome really sweet.

    I'm a bit late to the game, but from a quick look, there are many things wrong with the guitar, among them (as mentioned) black-bottom pickups obviously not from 1965 (and likely not vintage, though hard to see). Wormhole in the body looks too "straight" with smooth edges, though it could be a result of the refinish. The route between the middle and bridge pickups looks wrong: the side walls are rarely parallel like this. The neck cavity in the body looks too clean (though this could be explained away with the refinish). I would never consider buying a guitar like this.
