    Dreadful, dreadful news. That's 850 years of history literally going up in smoke. The fabric of the building was already under threat, this will be devastating.

    So very sad!

    A tragedy, and couldn't have had worse timing- start of Holy Week.

    Not catholic but I'm deeply saddened by this. I'm sure this will cast a pall over Easter Sunday.

    At least (as of right now) there has been no injuries or loss of life.

    I visited Paris as a teen in 1963 . . . my favorite city. Heartbreaking. One of the world's treasures.
