My sons sx tele neck pickup has always been really clear sounding. The volume pot came loose and I tightened it.

Now it sounds like tje tone knob is turned down but, only on the neck. Bridge and middle are super bright.

Im kinda stumped what would cause this.

    Any advice appreciated.

So, I opened it up and saw the posts on volume pot were connected by a strand of wire. Thats fixed. Yay!

Now however, the tone knob is acting funny on the bridge pup. Sort of like a volume control.

In cases where poor workmanship/parts may be the main issue, I like to shotgun the whole circuit, do it right from scratch. I ended up completely redoing the wiring in my American Standard Tele, must've been built on Friday afternoon or somethin' :D

Most likely is the tone pot has rotated and is making contact with shielding somewhere. If not, measure the pickup with a meter and let us know what you find.

I think I will have to redo it all just to be sure its right.

The sx diagram and the seymour duncan diagrams are different.

The wiring in the guitar is different from both.

Totally unrelated, maybe, but I have had cables partially go out on me and make my whole guitar sound dark and the tone control(s) not work at all. That said, it sounds like something is improperly grounded or a connection came loose. I just had the same sorta thing happen with my Epi LP Junior. one of the pots worked itself a little loose and over time twisted until it contacted something and stopped working. All I had to do was straighten everything out out and re tighten the pot and it's good as new now. Good luck!
