    I read a little about these, some said they were farty, and some said that the tubes ran too hot near crucial circuits, I thought why not flip it upside down then... lol

    Iove mine. Replaced tubes with some rmelectrk harmonix, and had the caps replaced.

    My G40V came as a stand-in when my 59 Bassman LTD went down. I could never get the brown sound I wanted from my Bassman although I loved the look smell and vibe and swirly cleans for jangle. But when I had them in same room was evident that the Pig had hose tones with ease. I sold the Bassman, bought a Tweed Deluxe and use them together in stereo!

    Actually, my output trannie shorted so took the oppo to have the Marshall 1 mod. The circuit was identical save for a capacitor off the Presence control an 6L6 rather than 5881 tubes. RESULT: It doesn't sound like a Marshall through the onboard 1x10, but output to even a 1x12" or a 4x12" and Whoa! Better than a Marshall mk1 - is more like a bloody Plexi!

    Anyway, what you lose in one hand you gain in the other! Superb little amp.
