For some songs I improvise solos others I compose and play more or less the same each time. This one covers C E7 A7 Dm7 F F#dim C A7 D7 G7 too many chances for me mess up! We rarely practice this song so I'm trying so refresh now.

cool man. one thing ive never done is composed a solo....ive always just improvised....even on my original stuff.
i think i might take some time in the near future and begin composing some.

I'm using the "composing" word pretty loosely. it's more like really slow improvising perhaps, until you find sequences that work.

i hear ya. i know guitarists that never improvise....all they do is write the solo and then play it the exact same way every time. i dont see any fun in that.

I have not played out like you guys but for songs that I have practiced, I tend to go into the solo in the same manner, and out in the same manner and in between is fair game.

Very nice! Good luck on the gig. You’ll do fine I’m sure. :thumb:
