That is a surprise. Still not very interested in the model, but that is a good deal.
Everybody who paid good money for that model must be a little peeved now.

It was on sale a few months ago from another vendor for $699, so you just have to be patient enough not to pay list price.

IMO it’s priced appropriately at $600. At full price you pay a $300 premium for screen-printed graphics and a reversed bridge pickup on what is otherwise a $600 Standard. I think that’s a poor value.

Edit: Just my perspective. If you want one, it’s definitely the best price you’ll find.

I had my Sweetwater rep looking for a lightweight version of this guitar since the release. No luck on that front. Oh well............ got enough guitars anyway. :whistling:

It’s certainly got an interesting vibe. :thumb:

Hope some Strat-talkers grab this on sale. Post up some pics.

FWIW it says it has vintage style pickups too. So that may justify 100 bucks over regular mim standard price.

It's hard to say what they are. I've dug through the specs and numerous reviews and the only term used is "vintage-style." No one seems to have opened up one of these guitars to see what's in it. A review said they averaged 5.5 KOhm each.

Ok. Found something. @Antigua says they're alnico 5.

Need to knock another 100 off for a refin OR throw in a can of lighter fluid. Either one would be a deal clincher for sure.

Agreed. I'm surprised Fender doesn't have a MIA or CIJ version (same graphics but higher end vintage pickups and better build quality in general)

Fender doesn't have a better/pricier versions of this one, but has produced plenty of others now and in the past. Here are 2 current examples:

Oh by the way the monterey does not have the reversed bridge. IT is just the same as any other right handed strat.

I’d need another $150-200 less for the refinish job.

Its a classic series with a Jimi look.

Id say 900 is a great price....

    600 is a stupid deal.

This is by far way better than a standard.

Google it for the main differences and compare on your own time, but in general Classic Series has vintage spec and cost more money on a regular basis at 850$-900$ and is considered a higher quality guitar.

Given the price its the better value.
