Just popped in from a thread or two over, where Dudeman showed that '54 for near a quarter mil.
Man! These folks think it's still 2007. :)

Just out of reach, to generate interest.
Eventually the right 'deep pockets' will find out about it.

I have a curiosity about lightweight guitars and for that reason I might be interested if I had silly amounts of disposable spendage (which I don't).
I can understand a premium on a rare 'special wood' example, but I'm thinking this is about 10x too much.
Still, this is a case of testing the waters.

I couldn't give a toss if the wood came from Leo's toilet seat, and his DNA was buried deep in the grain. Its a Strat, a factory made guitar that was made to be played and entertain, not be just another book entry in someones investment portfolio.. Sad! :thumbd:

I'm betting it won't sell for even close to that unless some hedge fund guy wants it sitting in their office.... funny thing last night I was watching a Kirk Hammet video and he was playing metallica songs with greeny..... big money guitar being run through high gain with massive compression.... sad to see such a great guitar being masked with effects.

Here's my thoughts on this strat. If Korina was such a great sounding wood why didn't Fender make more than 4 of them? And how come Gibson used it and didn't make anymore? Maybe they did find out it was really better for kitchen cabinets! :D:eek:

It says now that the listing has been ended. Also, it says it costs 87ct + shipping.

I do know the Korina Strats exist, not many ,but that is a little steep, I don't think any vintage or rare Strats will ever hit that type of $ due to the fact they never ceased in production like the Single cut 1950 era Les Pauls...Of course those are a little steep in the $ range as well...

Just proved my point. It never was for sale. Seems some folks just want something they can claim is rare. And perhaps enjoy rejoice at the thought that they could occasionally irritate those of us who would put it to good use and appreciate its true value.
At times this happens to be just a Strat.
