Thank you for everything, king of the surf guitar!
the king indeed. RIP
I've seen so many contradictory stories on this today. Does anyone know for sure if he died?
this is a podcast interview that a strat-talker was involved with back in July 2015 he posted it on the forum , I found the direct link to the Dick Dale interview, cool to hear him talking about how he experimented with piano strings on his guitar
It's possibly a 'celebrity hoax'. His music will live on!
He's only dead on the internet...
So sad. One of the greatest guitarists of all times much better than many well known others.
You got to be kdding another great gone. He was a good down to earth person. I sent him a personal email birthday wish and he took the time to reply back and talk a little. How many like him would do that. RIP Dick you will always be in my thoughts. Love your surf music and thanks for your contribution to the development of those JBL speakers, love mine.
This makes me truly sad. I'm a fan of his. Dick Dale was one of a kind. a real spiritual man with a beautiful soul, a guitar pioneer and a clever and funny character. I'll never forget his advice to ''play with the belly and not the fingers''. The man played like he was chopping down a tree, in his own words, and it's very true.
I always liked this performance. Dig his singing too.
not Dick Dale
Way too many
Young guitarists dying...
One nice thing...
The recordings and family that he left are his legacy
And he plays with the low E string at the bottem
RIP. One of the coolest guitar styles ever.
Wow that is indeed sad news..RIP Mr. Dale we Strto-nuts owe you a lot.
