Back when people had talent.
Bonus points for some hot country fiddle playing.
reminds me of when i was young these guys were stalwarts on the radio, when I was in around 5th grade Seals brother England Dan and John Ford Coley came and played at our school one of the kids was related to one of them and they played in our little auditorium
Love this tune !
The two words that really define Seals & Crofts are these:
What a nice trip through memory lane...thanks!
You're gonna have to elaborate on that one!
Always loved this song.
Produced their records.
Played guitar on them. Summer Breeze, Diamond Girl, Get Closer, We May Never Pass This Way Again...He was the architect of their sound.
Also when you listen to The Monkees...chances are very good you're hearing Louie Shelton play guitar.
Seals and Crofts a staple of my college days. From Summer Breeze to Diamond Girl, great times, great memories. I lived in The Ralph Bunche House for Peace Studies in those idyllic days. Their music was definitive of those times at pastoral Colgate U.
Those two guys could play, but back in the 70s Seals and Crofts live was easily the most boring concert I've ever attended. It was a note for note recreation of their records with no variation. It was two pricey tickets that would have been better spent on a couple of their records and a bottle of good wine.
My girlfriend and I left quite underwhelmed and skipped their offer of sticking around for their lecture on Baha'i Faith after the show.
Not much room for improvisation in music like that. Cool that you got to see them, though.
This is the first mention of this duo I have seen here. Summer Breeze, Diamond Girl ....the sound track of the Summer I met my dear wife of 45 years... the first Ray's of long overdue sunshine and happiness in my dark life.
It is amazing to me just how much of the music from the '60s and '70s were not made by the actual band, Not even arranged by the band. Fascinating.
On the NHRA event this past weekend they had some classic Mopar cars from the 70s and one had an 8track of Seals and Crofts in the player and the announcers mentioned how cool is that??!!!
