On the assumption that "the heart of Dixi" is in Alabama, there is a six hour time difference between Dublin and Dixi. So your assumption might not be entirely accurate!

Not sure about that. I know Buddy Ebsen (aka Jed Clampett and Barnaby Jones) was originally cast as the Tin Man, but the aluminum in the makeup made him so deathly sick that he had to drop out. That may be the source of the killer makeup legend.

Here's Buddy playing a Danelectro doubleneck. When he was young, he was a Broadway dancer.

Isaac Asimov is the only author to have a book in every Dewey-decimal category.

Every year about 98% of the atoms in your body are replaced. (Who are you? Who who, who who?)

The citrus soda 7-UP was created in 1929; "7" was selected because the original containers were 7 ounces. "UP" indicated the direction of the bubbles.

Every human spent about half an hour as a single cell.

The elephant is the only animal with 4 knees.

There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.

I accept and your wisdom and bow to your superior knowledge! I heard it some years ago on the radio and have always associated the story with the James Bond film Gold Finger were the girl was painted in gold. The story there was that they had to leave a small spot at the bottom of her spine to let her skin breathe. Alan

I saw a Mythbusters episode where they painted Jamie Hyneman gold, and monitored his vital signs. He started not feeling well, and they had to remove it.
