One of those grrr moments. Have had the back plate off my strat a hundred times, and JUST noticed one of the three springs is odd.

Darned if I can find anywhere that sells just one preCBS spring. A few complete sets out there, but would rather (obviously) just buy one.

Unless someone in my situation wants to chip in on a complete set??

I didn't know there was a difference between the old trem springs and new trem springs. I would imagine it'd be hard to find one though...

If you found a genuine set, I suspect that you should jump on it.

I ask why does it matter?

Been playing mine 20 + years. And Now it matters if I have a set of genuine springs :)

I might have some lying around, but I'm at the opposite side of the globe.

But in all honesty, I don't think an old one will sound different than a new one...

As we all know by now, tone comes from the content of your underpants...

Tremolo springs were the same from 54-at least 71. Bridge was also the same until they started changing them in late 71.

General consensus the modern trem springs are more stiff vs originals.

Raw Vintage has the most accurate repro springs.

    Id buy these.

    EDDIE VEGAS.

From my own stash. These are the 2 springs you would see in the Yellow envelope in glove box inside your case.
    Price: $50.00

    $50.00 for 2 springs from '71?

I really need to check my drawers with parts...

Don't buy from Eddie Vegas. He's a giant rip off. They can be found on eBay. There are some solid sellers

Just buy a complete set and sell the others.

You can be the saving grace for someone like you later on.
