Have a chance to pick up a fairly newer used sunburst with a Road runner case. Owner is asking $80.. Good deal or not?

I have a 60's Road worn in sunburst, which is my #1.

How do the bullets play/sound? ok quality compared to a Affinity??

    IMO affinity kills the bullet.

Hey Kafer...for 80 bucks I say go for it! Those bullets are fun 'lil guitars. I have a daphne blue one and it plays and sounds nice for what it is. Ive also got a highway one and an mim standard but I do love my bullet :)

What year is it? I got a 2008 Arctic White Bullet Strat. Mine has a great feel, infact is probably comparable to my MIM. I'd definitely go and check it out at least. For 80 bucks you can't go wrong.

If it's a newer one, in the last 5 years or so, go for it. The old ones have plywood bodies and no tremolo (hard tail) Which some may like, if the body weren't so crappy.

I would try to get it for less. Bullets have been on sale at Sam Ash recently for $90. $10 is not enough of a discount over new to make it worthwhile, IMO.

    Hey Strat-O-Lady!

Or should I call you Professor, anyway, I was impressed with Your recordings, very well done! I also love my Bullet, the ads call it Daphne Blue, but mine is Surf Green. I play the Bullet a lot also my Standard Squier Strat is very nice. Keep up the good work!...poppa

My Father-In-Law got a Squire Bullet Strat a few months ago, and I must say I'm VERY impressed with it...! Couldn't believe what kind of guitar you can get for a hundred bucks these days......the neck on it feels GREAT! I was shocked.

Went to check it out. Picked it up for $70 w/ a like new Road runner case!

CLEAN neck, pretty nice shape. Fret work is nicelly done!, not worn at all. Looks like jumbos? Picked up a new set of strings (10 1/2's D'Adarrio's)
    Body finish is very clean.

Now my Road worn has a little brother:)

Same here. I love my MIM, but when it comes to feel my Bullet has something special.

Grats on the new guitar Kaf!

I have a '00 bullet HT Indonesian (samik plant) I have owned and played alot of different strats, but the bullets can be great lil work horses. I love the neck on mine it's thin and it has an a-symetrical profile, and has a bit of an ibanez wizard feel to it.

I will actually be starting a new thread regarding it's relic process. stay tuned kiddies :p

$80 is reasonable since it includes the case. Bullets are O.K., but for best results should get the typical upgrades most low to mid range Squiers need. As for Affinities... I'd rather have a Bullet since the Affinity has a thin 1-1/2" (38mm) body, a narrow neck at the nut and the big ugly CBS style headstock. Bullets have a nearly full thickness 1-5/8" (41mm) body and a standard width (42mm) neck at the nut with the more desirable vintage sized headstock. The quality of the pickups and some of the hardware (mainly tuners) on the Affinity may be better than the Bullet, but most of us are going to replace those parts on either one so you might as well save the money and buy a Bullet to begin with.

It's amazing how cheap you can get squiers for on craigslist. I've gotten plenty for 60 dollars. Amazing. People give up easily on guitar, and wanna liquidate.
