So to begin, I bought a JV Squier rosewood neck for cheap money (140€) and needed a 3TSB Body, cause that combination was something I wanted for a long time.

Then my cell-phone dropped on the floor and stopped working (yes, this is important for the story).
Went to a repair shop to see if they can fix it, but unfortunately it was the main chip that got damaged.
Nevertheless there was a Squire sitting on a stand in the back of the store, maybe as a decoration item.
After some negotiation they sold it to me for 160€.
It's a Classic Vibe 60s. The Body looks great and I thought that would be the perfect match for my JV neck and I could sell the CV Neck to refinance the guitar.

The strings were rusty and it was full of dust. So I started to clean it up. It felt really nice in my hand. I gave it a setup, realizing that the strings even haven't been stretched yet.
I plugged it in and couldn't believe how GREAT this guitar sounded.

Now that we know each other, how could I part this strat out, giving it another Neck, or bridge...
Funny that the cheapest guitar I ever bought, is the one that I want to keep stock as it is.
OK...maybeeee a mint or cream pick guard...

Huge congrats, you scored a really nice looking CV there. :thumb:

I absolutely love mine! The only mods I've done to mine was to very lightly sand the back of the neck and add a Kinman treble bleed. Otherwise, it's bone stock.

    Congratulations!

I've owned 3 Classic Vibes, and the only thing that I had to replace was a 5-way switch.

Outstanding! Both the guitar AND the deal!
    I wouldn't touch a thing, personally...

You're not the first person on ST to be really surprised at how good these Classic Vibes are. I certainly was - I love my CVC Tele.

Oh yes, I read a whole lot of posts about how good these are, but it's obviously something completely different to hold one in your hands.
Great feel and sound (not only for the money).

Nice. I'm always surprised by how nice the grain and piece-matching is on those sunburst CV '60s.

Yes. Better than an awful lot of Fender Japan guitars which feature badly matched wood under a see-through finish - the sort of ugly wood matches that should have been hidden under a solid colour.

I'm really a fan of my SN Red one. I put a Classic Series 60s neck on it this morning (not because I needed to, just wanted to,) and using the nice Squier neck on another strat. Really like the guitar.

the Finish, pickups, everything seems to be up to par. The 5 way switch feels a little bit different, but works fine, otherwise, besides the headstock logo, I really wouldn't be able to tell any difference between this and a USA Strat, in all honesty.

Thanks, and I started to like the tortoise pick guard. Never thought this could happen.
