Its not worth that price . The strats worth around 700 And the sigs are worth around 50 quid each . Theres thousands of richards and woods sigs out there . I see a guy once selling a rick parfitt tele tthat was made in japan it had parfitt and rossi,s sigs on and he had a starting bid of 3 grand. this was on ebay he even had a pic holding it with parfitt and rossi next to him . No one bought it. Because the guitar was worth around 500 tops and status quo sigs are in the thousands . They very easy to get . Some people think a sig on a strat is worth thousands .

Of course it's not worth that price.. I wasn't posting it for the signatures nor the asking price, but rather as yet another example of one of these 1989 Standard Series Stratocasters that are not often seen.

I don't think Fender will look it up for you, but they have provided a great page that might help:

It's not that great a page. There are numerous anomalies on that page, unfortunately. As for Fender checking their records to provide information on a 1989 guitar, Fender's records before 1995 are patchy at best, & non-existent at worst.

That's why we have Strat Talk. :D

Everything looks normal for '89 except the saddles have been changed

Agreed - actually I think the entire bridge might have been changed as the saddles look like they have the centered adjustment screws. A pre-2008 American Standard/American Series bridge with the cast saddles had offset adjustment screws. There are bent saddles with offset screws available for the older bridge, but unless it's my monitor screwing up these have centered screws.

Old thread but I thought I'd throw this in the mix. I was trying to ID the pickups on what I thought was a MIA strat but the pickups are clearly not. I learned a bunch when guitarmaggedon realized that this is one of the MIA Squires. He thought the decal was a fake but after going through this entire thread and others, it looks legit. Thanks to joey and Michael for their stick-to-it-iveness on the subject. Here is a link to my thread over in the pickup forum:
