Thank you kind sir. I hope you'll join in Hey Joe.
Call me slow but I've just realised I wasn't supposed to be playing bass on Knockin on Heaven's Door. Sorry Nanda! I'll stick to the 'Everyone' box this time.
Intro/Rhythm? If it's ok for @2-Finger?.....With pleasure.
You naughty boy(says John).
Here's what Nanda has to say about it ;
No problems Simon, it's all fine with me (Nanda)
I have been working on the intro and rhythm myself - even attempted a very small, amateurish solo last Saturday in Santa Rosa...
Would you mind terribly if I tried the intro in Paris?
Whatever we're playing can someone PLEASE, pretty please with sugar on, order some sunshine for September in Paris?
After a very dismal 2 weeks previous, and the 4th or 5th successive rainy day here in Bedford and with the only sunshine forecast to be on Sunday coming, I NEED some summer!!
Not at all, go ahead.
PS @Mansonienne Simon asked because of this; http://www.strat-talk.com/threads/what-would-you-do.445357/page-2
I shall do my best. Wish I could send you some California sun. More than 2 straight weeks of it; well, one day in the Bay Area it was a bit cloudy in the morning...
The missus her first writing on this forum!!! Are we up for something?
Ah ok. I'm happy to bow out of the intro but would like to contribute to the rhythm - I assume having lots of guitars is fine.
No, no, no, please Andrea, you play the intro.
I really want you to do it, I don't mind it at all.
well i will admit to turning your amp up during one of your solos...your solo was fine...remember these words: "Go for it!"
Yes, you are sneaky like that!!!
Put some of that California sun in a large bottle and save it for our weekend please!
You are very gracious Nanda, but the bass part is all yours this time round. You did a really nice job of the other songs you played bass on last time, so I'll concentrate on working out some guitar parts that convey the "ooh, oooh, ooh" harmony parts!
Is anyone interested in my rearranging the song slightly so that it has several 'intros', the way Johnny B Goode does? It won't take me long to edit the original so that it does that. I can do the same thing with the solos, so there are as many solo spots as you want.
On the subject of editing/arrangement, something I mean to do very soon is work out some simple vocal harmony parts for some of the songs. I'm hoping that if a few people pick the harmony line they feel comfortable with, we can get a nice ensemble effect on the day. It doesn't matter if several people sing the same line, because that's exactly what 'double tracking' is!
If you could see out of the skylight of my little studio in Worthing, you'd know I have no such powers! I used to be quite well connected in my younger days but not that well connected`!
@simoncroft, Nanda her name in the Bass column on 'Knockin on Heaven's Door', is just still there from last edition (June). You guys played it twice in June.
@felis , sure, we can share the rhythm
There are a few songs left I need to edit and upload to YouTube. I think Knockin on Heaven's Door with Nanda on bass may be the very last. Thank you for reminding me.
That all sounds good to me!
