I recently acquired this camera. My 1st digital SLR. Nikon 3500. Prior to that I have been away from photography for a long time when my Ilford bulk ran out. I have it in shutter priority, I think. I will try what maybe aperature priority mode. I have only had it about a month and have not had much time to dive into it's capabilities.

    It's starting to un-eclipse.

The sky is reddish and the moon disappeared. Seems like a fog came down over here too.

I got a couple shots. I can't tell how good they are looking at the little LCD screen. At least I can see that the moon is not oblong.

When I did have the hobby, I use a Fuji ST-801. All manual. no AF, no auto-exposure, no nothing. My left hand still searches for the aperature ring.

So is it red already? It seems there will be no red moon to me. Fog suddenly came down.

The clouds parted sufficiently to provide a spectacle into totality, though unfortunately the haze from a high thin layer obscured the tonal characteristics...and now the clouds have moved back in.

And I have to say I am totally disappointed that the sky wasn't filled with vampire women flying about eating puppies or children or some such with Jeremy Renner shooting arrows all over hell and gone...

I'd say Hollywood really screwed the pooch on this one.

I saw some vampire women flying about eating puppies, maybe that was just up here.

The photos I took still needed a tripod. Got the shutter times down by boosting the 'film' speed (ASA). But I still could not hold it steady enough and this camera does have a mirror so that affects a little. There is 2021.

I went to look just now. It's already behind my building and too cold and windy to get a camera/tripod for it. Shoot, it's going to be too cold to work too

No where near as nice as what @rafasounds was able to produce tonight but they will show the color.

You sure it was vampires and not the greater Seattle PTA?

It was freakin' cold in Toronto last night, but I stepped out every 15 minutes or so to watch the show. It was an impressively dark eclipse, and worth the effort.
The best thing about lunar eclipses is they are evidence that the earth is a sphere that anyone can check for themselves. Just watch the shape of the shadow of the earth - whether it's straight overhead or just rising or setting, it's always circular. You don't need to trust the experts!

I took this one, I think it was February 2000. I went to bed at 9:00 last night. If you see one, you've seen 'em all.
