A thread dedicated to my YT videos. This forum is so content rich so i'm going to keep these down to 60s (ish). Bite sized videos of whatever. First up my cover of Hey Joe by Hendrix.

    Feedback welcome :)

I've never been one to even try and pull off exact covers, but if you're interested, here's a condensed version of Hey Joe that I did a while ago.

Not trying to hijack your thread, I was trying to just post a link, but it keeps imbedding the vid. so never mind I guess.

It's interesting to me to see and hear how different people approach the same song. Mine is sloppier than yours.

    Thanks for listening @Ebidis :)

Covers are such a subjective thing. With this song specifically there are so many routes to learn it; Scores of YouTube videos, no doubt hundreds of tabs. I think when I refreshed my knowledge before I recoded this ... I didn't actually listen to the original!

Feel free to post your vid my friend, I'm intrigued and certainly won't consider it thread hijacking.

Great tone and some cool mellow Jimi
The lick at 0:58 is one of my fav Jimi licks.

I hope I have some free time today, 'cause now I am wanting to jam to some Jimi. :thumb:

I can easily lose hours of my life to Jimi style chordal licks. The possibilities are endless! Thanks for watching.

Damn! That was smooth as silk. I'm really digging that tone.

Very nicely played. I hope to hear more from you.

I like the fact you made it kind of your own. Kudos on the low gain setting. Amazing dynamics and very cool phrasing/articulation.
Subbed, if you don´t mind :)

    All the best,

sounds great! the video went into strat-talk jam 56 afterwards that's got some tasty playing on it.
there's a local blues band that plays at the pub down the road and they always end the night with an extended jam version of Hey Joe, they played last night and pints were had so my heads hurting today

Nice cover! Which OD pedal have you used?

Cheers dude, sounds like you had a good night!

Hey Omar, thank you :) I didn't use an OD pedal. This was the guitar plugged directly into my audio interface and then I used the "Bias FX" Amp sim to create the tone. The signal chain in Bias FX was as follows:

    Compressor > Tremelo > Tubescreamer > '67 Blackface Amp

The tube screamer sim is based on a TS808. Hope that helps!
