I’m just curious as to if this is possible because I like the clean look of the pickup and it matches my humbucker cover

Possible if you change the pickguard to one that has a neck pickup slot shaped to fit a Tele neck pickup.

Keep in mind, that a Tele neck pickup does not sound like a Strat pickup, they tend to be darker sounding.

Ok, thanks for the advice. I’ve looked around and there are no similar looking pickups for a strat, so I’ll probably get tele pickups

I thought the whole purpose of being for the Tele neck pickup was to turn the Bridge pickup into a giant humbucker

I would say "muddier sounding". I find the Tele neck pickup very unimpressive compared to a Strat neck pickup.

Those are not Tele neck pickups, those are the lipstick tube pickups as used in Danelectros. Completely different.

Yes. That is what I stated in my previous post. Maybe I should have more clearly said "instead of a tele neck pickup".

Since the OP is just going for a certain look I was simply trying to offer an alternative that he could use without having to look for a special pick-guard.

Yes, thanks for your advice. I don’t really like the look of lipstick tube pickups, so I might go with hotrails to get closer to what I want. I just think the lipstick pickup looks like a roller, and it doesn’t seem to be adjustable.

If you are going for a look, you are going for a look. I get it. There are a lot of great options out there. Here is a link to some covers without pole piece cut outs or some chrome ones that have the cutouts. I haven't seen chrome without cutouts but they may be out there.

Thanks for the link! I think I’m going to have to end up just getting gold covers with holes cut out, but not too much of a sacrifice.

That's great. Just make sure the measurements are right for your pickups and don't forget to post a pic when it's done.

I’ve got a bunch of different single coils so size isn’t an issue. Pics will definitely be posted. If you want, I can give you all my mod plans.

I and many others on here love to watch mods happen. I say start a new thread with your plans and progress and I am definitely interested in checking it out.

Lace Sensor Chrome Domes have that look sound great and are noiseless.

I would love to hear the outcome of the tele pickups, as I still can’t decide between those, hot rails, or just gold covers for pre-existing single coils. If the tele pickups work, please let me know.

Do they come in gold? Or just chrome?
