    Wow. These are really impressive.

I have to say. That Galacticaster looks amazing. I’m really looking forward to seeing the completion on that

Yep, every kid who is in there chooses to be there. It is outside the realm of normal seat time. However, the word is spreading about this club, and there is a big interest in more students joining. We have capped the club at 12 members, so we believe next year we might be turning a few applications down.

Also, the side effect of this is that our guitar classes offered by our music department are now completely booked for next year, and two of our club members have started a band.

We are also going to make our own necks next year, we are either going to get funding for the fretting tools, or fundraise to buy them. We have great sources of rock maple here locally, a CNC .dwg files for a tele neck, and will use the stewmac preslotted fretboards until we get the funds for tools the fret saws.

How is that gonna work? Are you keeping the same kids in next years class? Poor kids are gonna have to work for 2 years to get a complete guitar, lol.:p

No, we will have all of the underclassmen back, they will start a new guitar. This year every kid has a donated neck. Next year we want to expand and have them build bodies and necks, so the older kids will have two handmade guitars when they leave. We will probably offer jaguar and strat bodies next year too. I just need to find the right .dwg files for those necks.

I hope all the folks who took a chance and donated parts are happy as well! This has been incredible, and I have learned so much during this process.

That is flipping awesome. You are getting kids working with their hands, falling in love with music, and filling seats for next year. Huge kudos for pulling this idea together. It's so much fun to see it near completion.

Does that have a touch of pearl coat on it? Either way, that color really pops!

    ok
That is so completely and utterly cool. Makes me want to go back to high school. Kids show some incredible skills and patience. Something they'll never forget.

In addition to their own guitars, maybe you could build an extra class-built guitar next year and then auction if off locally to help raise additional funds. I think someone would pay a premium for a hand-built guitar to help a local project like this.
