That's one sweet sounding Telecaster Mouse ! Almost like a pedal-steel...

I liked the tune, & your solo was killer. It looked like you really got into that one.

    RIP Tom Petty

Great Petty cover. That's a really rockabilly sounding solo- and we can almost see part of your face when you did that. The Variax gets a nice authentic sound
Petty had some great great tunes.

Mouse! I struggle to keep up with your output when I frequent this place so I doubt I'll catch up from the last 12 months. I have however just listened to you Tom Petty tribute - it's top draw stuff. Your rhythm playing is like clockwork, brilliantly done.

Thanks guys. I feel like this past year I've made way too many of these tribute videos for fallen artists. It really sucks!

@Twelve8 I just saw that you started your own thread. Let me go check it out!

I snuck a listen to your Tom Petty cover last night. What a great tune and your cover did it complete justice. Hard to believe he’s gone and bummed I never made a point to check him out live.

This one started off as an earworm that I posted about in a thread in Sidewinders. It stuck around so I followed it and gave the tune a shot. It was cool to break out the wah again as it's been a while. The original recording has a guitar with a talk box doing a bunch of fills. I don't have one of those so I just played it straight. I did add a bit of auto wah effect from my DAW for the fills during verse 2 just to try out the effect.

Interesting tune there Mouse, but I'll be honest & say that this one wasn't for me, & didn't listen to it all sorry...

That said, I completely understand its appeal from a guitarists point-of-view, & the challenge involved to keep it all together, & crunch those select chords out in a very disciplined way. Not easy !!!

Look forward to the next one, & have a great week-end !

I know. Whatever "it" is...she has buckets of if. She can flat ass sing.

@Mouse you continue to excel at any style you try.

Cool groove, groovey Mouse. You are too funky.
Get down with your bad self. You are like Samuel Jackson with an electric guitar

    Many thanks for listening guys.

@Rastus I'm sorry that this one wasn't for you. As I've mentioned in the past, I selfishly choose my songs for me first and hopefully a few others might enjoy them as well. I appreciate you making it a few seconds into it.

@abnormaltoy and @CigBurn yeah, Chaka definitely had "it" on a few different levels. ;)

The last tune I posted found a limited audience (understandable) and I'm afraid this one may be the same as I'm not sure how popular it is. In the interest of completeness, here it is regardless.

Prior to hearing this the other day, I couldn't have told you the name of the tune although I've heard it many times over the years. Steve Cropper is one of those guys whose name you hear all the time but I can't say I've played much of his stuff so I thought I'd give this one a try. It's a fairly simple tune on paper but I tried to lay as much groove on it as I could because yeah....Cropper knows groove.

Man that sound takes me back, great job Mouse. This stuff always reminds me of songs like Cliff Nobles The Horse, or Green Onions etc. Just one big groove. :)

That tune was in Barfly, my favorite Mickey Rourke movie

I dig that throaty Tele solo. I’m always pleasantly surprised when you play blues, you do it well, and you get into it. Nice tasty old school playing with some good vibrato

Nothing wrong with your groove here @Mouse, it's awesome !!!

Wickedly tasty solo too, lovely blues bends & lines, & subtle, though gritty tone.

    Great tune !

Sorry for the barrage of video posts over the past few days. I had some time this weekend but this is the last.

I've been in a real R&B and funk phase for a while now. I'm always pleasantly surprised by how many fun and challenging guitar lines can be found in MJ tunes. I have to look up who those players were.

The most versatile knees in rock. Funky and well played, but I have to confess I've never heard that one before. :)
