I have been remarkably disappointed by Discovery. Character choice, character development, story lines, lack of discipline, etc etc. have all crawled under my skin to the point that I can't watch it. I have, however, heard really good things about "The Orville" and looking forward to seeing it when it's available to me in Turkey.

I don't think Shatner left..? Star Trek 6 was just the last Star Trek story that focused on his and his crew (Shatner and a couple others were in the next movie too). All the others in his crew left around the same time.

I was a big fan of The Next Generation.

I watch the show Orville and don't think it is anything like Sar trek or any of the other outer space shows. some episodes do resemble that of other shows but the characters are really different from the other shows. Its almost a camp style of the other TV outer space shows.

The Orville is, currently, the best "Star Trek" series on television.
Star Trek Discovery is a not-so-close second.
It's probably because The Orville is made by someone (Seth MacFarlane) that loves Star Trek more than the a-guy-in-corporate-thats-likes-the-money-that-someone-can-make-from-some-BS-Star-Trek-series...

Galaxy Quest is the 4th best Star Trek movie after

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

    Star Trek: First Contact

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home

Not that I'm a big Star Trek fan or anything...

I like that The Orville has had people involved with it that also worked on Star Trek shows.

Orville has everybody working on it! Well, maybe not everybody...but, I saw that Charlize Theron, Rob Lowe and George (Jason Alexander) have all done parts on it.

My son got me hooked on American Dad and I always enjoy Patrick Stewart's "appearance" .

MacFarlane has a lot of friends.
