I'm certainly not a wise man, but for all ye strat members.. if you haven't dug deep into Lightfoot, take the plunge.

There's not a better songwriter. He has such a focused way to look at life and it's perils. A way that you and I would. Relationships, hand to hand.... face to face.

    Old Dan's Records
    Don Quixote
    Summertime Dream
    Sundown

....and the rest of the catalog as well

My Other favorites include Denver , Fogelberg, Kansas, Yes, Cat Sthttps://youtu.be/50XK15NybjU?t=200evens...etc.

Lightfoot just has that day to day way of looking at things.

I think you will find that people either like him, or want no part. He is a true folk legend. Not many Gordon Lightfoot times I don't like!

He’s worked steady for what, fifty years now??

    I don’t think he’s ever released something I didn’t really like.

I don't think he has one bad tune in his entire repertoire....he is another one that is getting up in years like all the good ones....

Another great (at least to me) and very underrated singer writer is Al Stewart...his songs are very lyrical and thought provoking..

Oh yeah! Absolutely. Have three. Stranger on the shore, Above the stars (and other romantic fancies) and Mr. Acker Bilk and Bent Fabric together! In fact I just found another Bent Fabric (Alley Cat) at the habitat for humanity re-store the other day of all places.

Sorry, now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

    Cheers...................Todd

Gordon Lightfoot is part of the soundtrack of my childhood . Great stuff. Sundown specifically sticks in my mind.

A life of beautiful unassuming and poetic music. Always thought he and Harry Nilsson would have made a monster singer songwriter team.

Back in the early 1970's my mom was all into Gordon.
I was more (still am ) of a Tull man :thumb: but yeah,
    he has some great songs.
