There are the obvious examples like power windows/mirrors/locks/seats and 4w disc brakes but what about improvements toward safety and longevity of the vehicle? I believe (fwiw) that every new car should have automatic lighting/wipers/climate control and cruise control. All of the aforementioned can be controlled by a chip half the size of the nail on your pinky and costs next to nothing to take some of the brain load off of the driver that they can devote to their eyes and ears. Also, could the manufacturers please over-engineer the mechanisms of the driver's door? The hinges/locks/windows/switches etc. take the most abuse over the service life of the vehicle. I know I open the rear doors of my car somewhere in the range of 30~50 times a year and that might be a stretch but the driver's door could get 10~20 a day and the abuse adds up quickly! C'mon, rant with me!
